Over the holidays, our wonderful members brought a smile to our face and a long laugh with this hilariously sweet poem that they wrote for us! We had to share it with you all!
Thank you to each of them for the continued laugh through the seasons!
Twas days before Christmas and all through the gym
All the creatures were sweating in hopes they’d stay thin.
The cardio machines all moved with great force
In the hopes that our bodies would stay the right course.
Lisa and O still taught all their classes,
while each of us worked so hard on our asses.
And we in our spandex all covered in sweat
had just hatched an idea of what we would get
A present for Lisa and one for Ochieng
It came to our head with a loud, clashing bang.
Away to each member I ran like a flash,
And everyone happily offered up cash.
The sun still hiding on the horizon below,
Because only type A’s at this hour will show.
And what’s so amazing at this early hour
Is feeling the Pulse high-energy power
With Lisa and O so lively and quick
We knew this was the place for us before six.
More rapid we cycled, the faster we ran,
And they shouted our names and the cheering began:
Now Karen! Now Betty!
Now, Tamara and John!
On, Lisa! On Katie!
On, Kirstin and Dawn!
Ride hard for 3 minutes,
At least to your eight .
Push harder and harder
And raise that heart rate!
As the sun finally peaks and normal people arise,
We note when we’re here that time really flies.
So much fun, so much cheer, we owe it to you -
To Lisa, to O, of course Kristen adds too.
And then, with a twinkle, a thank you and smile,
We wanted to thank you for each grueling mile.
So I’ll reach from this bag and offer you each,
A token of thanks from the crack-of-dawn peeps.
And the Saturday earlies contributed too,
But all here at once was too hard to do.
A bundle of joy we get from just coming
And even though early, you never hear grumbling
Our eyes—how they twinkled! Our smiles, so merry!
Our cheeks were bright red, our faces like cherries!
Our dry little mouths were gulping down water,
And the pain we are feeling no longer matters.
With knots in our muscles, we gritted our teeth,
We moved counter-clockwise, in the shape of a wreath.
We have smiles and jokes and some have a belly
That we hope will not shake like a bowl full of jelly.
Be we’re fit and we’re happy, right pictures of health,
And we laugh when we enter in spite of ourselves.
A clink of the weights and a flex of the muscle,
Gives us the strength to get moving and hustle.
We’ll finish the cardio and go straight to the bands,
We’ll grip TRX and do push ups on hands.
And then we’ll wipe down and head to Pilates,
As we stretch and we pull in search of great bodies.
And we’ll spring from the mat, all cheerful and toned,
We know that we reached that ultimate zone.
So you are the best, Lisa P. and Ochieng,
Happy Christmas to all, from the Crack-of-Dawn Gang.
